Monday Night Update

Hi Everyone,
The vet called this morning and asked why I hadn't called to tell him about Scarlett's baby. I told him that I would have called IF we had a baby. He says that he is really surprised she hasn't foaled yet...but is very pleased that she has held on.
Things are just about the same with Scarlett. Milk strip test at the max (5 squares) and PH at 6.3. She has seemed relaxed today even though she only went out for a couple of walks since we have had rain and drizzle all day long. She has made it to day 318 and I feel very confident that her baby will be fine whenever she and the baby decide the time is right.
Jordan is not showing any signs that she is close. Her bag is filling but has quite a way to go to be full. Maybe she has decided that she wants to wait for all the limelight.
Please call if you see something that we should know about. Thanks for watching with us.
Have a good night.

Beth, Thank you for this update. I am so glad that I was wrong this morning but it's better to be safe than sorry. The longer that Scarlett can hold off is a Plus!
Bless You & Wes for making this public for all of your fans.

Hi Beth, I always look forward to your updates. I am watching every chance I get and even when I am not watching I still have the cams up so when I pass by the computer, I always stop to look. Scarlett has done so well. We are all so happy about that. I sure hope her first foaling will be a quick and easy one and that her and her baby are kept well. Have all your maidens accepted their babies right away? I bet Scarlett will make a wonderful mom. Thanks again Beth and hope your evening goes well.

Thanks for the update Beth ! I'm so glad she's hanging on to that foal !! I too almost called you in the wee hours. I didn't sleep well last night and was watching in the 4:00 to 5:30 time frame ( I think) I was trying not to look at the clock too much !
Scarlet was sleeping on her feet peacefully, and then started frequently kicking up with her back hooves. She finally layed down and sorta started "rocking" a bit, looking back at her belly, and did a few bites at her belly as well...She was definitely uncomfortable.. about the time I made my mind up to call she settled back down... I was kinda surprised when I got up this morning and that big belly was still big !

Thanks for sharing this miracle. Poor dear Scarlett appears so tired. I hope and pray all goes smooth. It looks like it will be VERY soon. I've been glued to the cam for the last 3 or 4 days now. Such a beautiful girl and she'll be a wonderful Mother I'm sure.

Back in 1997 all 3 of my females (2 Mini Schnauzers & one maltese) were due at the same time. Seemed my black Mini Schnauzer kept pushing away her lil black newborn male. So I gave him to my white lil Maltese,Joy, and she took care of him.
The bigger females didn't dare go near Joy and her 3 puppies (2 Maltese and one blk male!) Joy's very first litter.
Nature takes care of her own!

This am both horses are doing about the same. Like others, I checked them all thru the night.
